My typical workout consists of 3-4 days of strength training and 3-4 days of cardio. I’ll concentrate on two muscle groups only during my strength workouts. My goal during strength days is to work both muscle groups to the max. I don’t believe in stopping a set simply because I reached the desired rep count. If I can push more reps I will. I tell myself that those are the championship reps.
When I was younger cardio workouts were never part of my routine. I was very involved in sports so cardio was always part of the activity. I played midfield in college soccer and running was a huge part of the game for me. Now that I’m older, have minor injuries, and two kids competitive sports are no longer part of my fitness.
I’ve replaced sports cardio with the Sprint 8 three days a week on the Matrix T70 treadmill. I also enjoy doing a longer and lower intense run on the Octane ZR8 Zero Runner for about 40 minutes 2-3 times a week.
